Planning application lodged for New Tesco Format 70 supermarket to replace existing store in Newmarket
[ August 2011 ]

Hamilton Land, in conjunction with Tesco Stores Ltd & Oaks Business Park Ltd, has made a formal planning application to Forest Heath District Council for:
Erection of a Tesco superstore (9,870 square metres) to replace existing (5,223 square metres); replacement petrol filling station; provision of car parking (654 spaces - existing 388); landscaping and ancillary works at Tesco / Unit 1 Oaks Business Park Fordham Road Newmarket
This application follows on from the successful grant of planning permission on part of the subject site for a new 49,000 sq.ft. B & Q mini-warehouse in 2007.
B & Q did not take up this opportunity for a new store and extensive negotiations in subsequent years with Tesco has resulted in this year's revised planning application on behalf of Tesco.
